August at PlayablesAI: Gamescom, New Features & More
Hi! It's Sanna from Playables.ai. 👋
Last month revolved around building bigger, working smarter, and getting ready for one of the biggest weeks in gaming.
We introduced new ways to make complex playable projects easier to manage, created a new playable that got us hooked, and wrapped up the month at gamescom in Cologne.

Bigger playables, less complexity
Complex projects don’t have to become complicated.
This month, we introduced Substate Machines, a new feature that lets you break larger playable projects into smaller, reusable parts.
Teams can work on different sections at the same time, make changes without affecting everything else, and reuse components instead of rebuilding them over and over.
And while the feature itself is quite technical behind the scenes, using it doesn’t have to be. The AI takes care of the complexity, helping you build larger and more advanced playables simply by prompting what you want.
Less repetitive work, fewer conflicts, and more time for the creative stuff.
What we learned at gamescom
Another gamescom is in the books! Cologne brought together the gaming industry on a scale that’s hard to match — from the more focused trade areas to the huge public halls and countless after-work get-togethers.
One clear takeaway from our meetings was the growing interest in using AI to improve productivity. For playable advertising, speed and convenience matter, but so does creative control. Teams still want to work with their own brand-aligned assets rather than having to rely on AI-generated artwork.
We also heard something that reinforced an important part of PlayablesAI: we’re not template-based. You can create the gameplay that fits your idea, or build your own reusable setup and turn one ad into countless variations.
Gamescom also reminded us that some of the best conversations still happen after the conference doors close. 🍻

Playable of the Month: Hooked Up!
This month’s favourite got us hooked. Literally. 🎣
Hooked Up! is a simple fishing playable that shows how even a familiar mechanic can turn into a fun, interactive ad experience.
Think you can make the catch?
See you in September
That’s it for August, but there’s plenty more on the way.
More playables, more product updates, and more stories from industry events.
See you next month! 🍂
