Playable Ads: Today’s Most Effective Ad Format
Our QSApp has proven itself to be a one-of-a-kind tool when it comes to interactivity and engaging audiences behind any device screen, whether it’s on websites, apps, or even at festivals with thousands of users.
From very early on in QSApp production, we acknowledged that interactive and playable ads have huge potential in today’s market, where attention spans are shrinking by the second, and static and video ads just aren’t cutting it anymore.
According to numerous studies, playable and interactive ads are already paving the way forward: offering ad experiences where users actually stop, interact, and remember the message. And when an ad is memorable, it’s more likely to turn into a click. Or a purchase.
And here’s where we and QSApp come in: to answer a great need to get noticed from your competitors with the power of interactivity, quickly, cost-effectively, and code-free.
Playable Ad for Dice of Kalma 🎲
This month, we received a request to create a playable ad for indie game studio Pepperbox Studios for their game Dice of Kalma.
It’s a deckbuilding roguelike where you play dice against Kalma, the grim guardian of the Underworld. Build a deck of powerful skulls, find synergies, and turn the dice to your favor to escape back to the world of the living.
From contract signing to finishing the ad, it took us 20 hours. Let me highlight that: ONLY 20 hours. Oftentimes, creating playable ads can take anything from weeks to even months. But with QSApp, that production cycle gets faster and more efficient, and most importantly, customers save valuable time and resources and get their ad out into the world.

PGC Helsinki & the Aurora Award 🎮
Every October, our hometown Helsinki transforms into the beating heart of the Nordic games scene as it hosts the annual Finnish Games Week. A packed week of events, meetups, and conferences that bring together game industry professionals from near and far.
We kicked things off in style at the D2Sea Laser Boat Party, which we proudly co-hosted with FastSpring, Keywords Studios, and Two & a Half Gamers. This waterfront networking event set sail with a clear mission: to connect studios and publishers shaping the future of direct-to-consumer (D2C) gaming, all against the stunning backdrop of Helsinki’s open waters. Huge thanks to our fellow hosts and everyone who joined us. What a memorable evening!
During PGC Helsinki, our Quicksave sleeves were rolled up for two full days of networking, catching talks, and connecting with the community. Our CEO, Elina Arponen, joined the panel “Browser Games 101 – How To Actually Prepare For HTML5”, where she shared her expertise on the power and potential of HTML5 in the gaming landscape.

And we couldn’t be prouder: Elina also received the Aurora Award, an honor given to women whose leadership, vision, and impact are actively shaping the future of games and tech across the Nordics.

After a few tough years, Finnish Games Week proved one thing loud and clear: the Finnish game industry is back, and stronger than ever!✨
October was no exception to the months before, packed with events, powerful conversations, and big recognition for QSApp.
And we’re not slowing down. November is bringing the heat to Helsinki: we’ll be at Slush 2025, showcasing QSApp and unveiling a game-changing speed track that will revolutionize how playable and interactive ads are created.
